Mother’s Cookies
Shane’s mother loves to bake cookies. Chocolate chip, banana, cinnamon, oatmeal, raisin, apple or peanut butter, Shane’s mother knows how to make them.
Everyday, Shane’s house is always filled with the aroma of freshly baked cookies. An ever present “decor” in their kitchen is a bit of cookie dough sticking on their glass tile kitchen backsplash. Shane’s mother’s cookies are famous all over the neighbourhood. During bake sales, fairs and pot luck events, the delicious cookies are always sought after.
Shane’s mother has also taught him how to bake simple recipe cookies. Shane has successfully made a few batches of shortbread but not without burning them the first two to three tries. Shane’s mother has always had the passion for baking cookies ever since she tasted her first delicious treat. She was seven years old then. Her mother’s family was not rich and was in fact below average. Shane’s grandparents couldn’t afford to buy a cookie or buy some flour to make some. After that, Shane’s mother vowed to herself to her how to bake cookies and be great at it. She also wanted her children to taste cookies at an early age and eat them as much as they would like anytime.
