Mother’s Cookies

Monday, July 27th, 2009

Shane’s mother loves to bake cookies. Chocolate chip, banana, cinnamon, oatmeal, raisin, apple or peanut butter, Shane’s mother knows how to make them.

Everyday, Shane’s house is always filled with the aroma of freshly baked cookies. An ever present “decor” in their kitchen is a bit of cookie dough sticking on their glass tile kitchen backsplash. Shane’s mother’s cookies are famous all over the neighbourhood. During bake sales, fairs and pot luck events, the delicious cookies are always sought after.

Shane’s mother has also taught him how to bake simple recipe cookies. Shane has successfully made a few batches of shortbread but not without burning them the first two to three tries. Shane’s mother has always had the passion for baking cookies ever since she tasted her first delicious treat. She was seven years old then. Her mother’s family was not rich and was in fact below average. Shane’s grandparents couldn’t afford to buy a cookie or buy some flour to make some. After that, Shane’s mother vowed to herself to her how to bake cookies and be great at it. She also wanted her children to taste cookies at an early age and eat them as much as they would like anytime.

The Secret Hot Tub Spa Chemicals

Monday, July 27th, 2009

You may be wondering how people are keeping their hot tubs clean. Well, actually there is no need for you to undergo and classes to know just how to perfectly clean the water. When I first went to the spa, I was so amazed at how clean they kept their hot tubs. As nosy as I can be, I asked them if they had any special hot tub spa chemicals which I can use in my hot tub at home. They thought I was kidding because all they used were chlorine and biguanide. While chlorine may be very common, I have not yet heard of biguanide. This was a hydrogen peroxide based chemical which oxidizes any organic matter including bacteri which may be present in the tub. This is what they prefer because it smells less since it has no chlorine or bromine in its formula. There is no need to wonder anymore about how you can clean your hot tubs.

Wilton Character Cake Pans

Saturday, July 25th, 2009

Wilton character cake pans have virtually revolutionized the art of baking and decorating cakes, especially those cakes intended for children and even children lurking inside adults. Children will no longer just enjoy eating the cake, or perhaps throwing it at each other in a food fight. Now they can feast their eyes on these spectacular and stunning cakes before slicing them up.

Wilton offers pans shaped like various cartoon characters including Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Cinderella, Little Mermaid, Wall-E, Sponge Bob, and Winnie the Pooh. Superheroes Superman, Batman, and Spiderman also have their own pans. Along with the pans are detailed instructions on how to decorate the cakes to make them look exactly like the characters they were meant to depict.

You can even enlist the help of your children in decorating the cake and turn it into a family activity. They will surely enjoy putting the colors on the characters they love. Of course, you will have to teach them a thing or two about decorating cakes so they won’t spoil it. But if you are ready with all the ingredients and you have familiarized them as well as yourself with all the tools and instructions that came with the character pans, there is really no reason why your collective work will not come out to be a great-looking and mouth-watering work of art.
